Barbara de Groot

Barbara graduated in Architecture from Delft University of Technology at the graduation studio Heritage & Architecture and has worked as a student assistant for the Architectural Engineering department.

"One of the biggest challenges in the Netherlands is making the existing buildings more sustainable. From my experience at the Heritage & Architecture graduation studio, I learned that almost every building can be transformed into a sustainable and future-proof building through careful analysis and innovation. "

In her graduation project she did research on "urban ecology", or urban ecology. Urban ecology assumes that the urban environment and even buildings can and must contribute to the stimulation of our ecosystems and biodiversity. In addition to ecological benefits, this also has a positive impact on the well-being of the people in the city.
