A buzz, a living-room feel, a bit of activity – that's what you want in a study environment. This has been perfectly realized in this sustainable and future-proof educational building.
Many thanks for the compliments, Fred Feuerstake, Mariska Wit, and Wijnand Van Den Brink. Last week, the final, brand-new section of the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences building was officially opened. A sustainable design that students themselves contributed to. Their wish? A diverse range of spaces: from a quiet room for studying in peace to spaces for brainstorming with other students. Paul de Ruiter Architects has fulfilled this wish with a variety of flexible work and study spaces, as well as cozy meeting areas and public spaces. And the future generation of students has also been considered: the educational building is energy-neutral, has a roof and facade covered in solar panels, and features thermal energy storage. We hope that the building will produce many wise economists in the coming years.
