On June 2nd, President Klaas Knot of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) opened the new Cash Center in Zeist. The DNB Cash Center is a showcase of innovation and state-of-the-art technology, integrated into the surrounding natural environment with a focus on sustainability. The Cash Center stores part of the Dutch gold reserve. It also serves as the beating heart of De Nederlandsche Bank's (DNB) currency sorting and issuance operations.
The Cash Center is located on the Camp New Amsterdam defense site in the municipality of Zeist. Construction began in mid-2019 and the building was completed in September 2022, after which the furnishing and relocation took place. The DNB Cash Center was completed on schedule and within budget. The following parties were involved in the development of the new DNB Cash Centre: Paul de Ruiter Architects, Royal Haskoning DHV, MacTwin Security, Stevens Van Dijck construction managers and consultants, Dura Vermeer Bouw, Kropman Installation Technology, and Chubb Fire & Security.
