“I am interested in how architecture can bring together people, nature, and the built environment through sustainable and circular design”

I completed my bachelor’s degree at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2024 and am currently in the final year of my Master’s in Architecture, Building and Planning. During my studies in Eindhoven, I developed a particular interest in sustainable and circular design strategies. Through several transformation studios, I explored different sustainable design solutions. I became particularly interested in the reuse of materials and the transformation of existing buildings while preserving their existing qualities.

In 2026, I spent a semester abroad at the University of Sydney. Studying in a different cultural and environmental context made me more aware of how cultural, historical and environmental factors can influence a design. I particularly learned how designing with nature as a priority can create spaces that encourage social cohesion.

Currently, I am an intern at Paul de Ruiter Architects before returning to Eindhoven to begin my graduation studio. I was drawn to PDR because of its innovative design approach, where sustainability is an integral part of the design process. I am particularly interested in how sustainable design solutions can contribute to creating comfortable and meaningful spaces that respond to both their users and the urban context.

Through my internship, I hope to further develop my understanding of sustainable architecture and learn how these different aspects can come together within a design. I believe the relationship between people, nature and the built environment is essential to designing architecture for the future.
