Jarmo Slutter

I began my Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Building and Planning at Eindhoven University of Technology in 2020. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture at Delft University of Technology, where I expect to graduate next year. During my studies, I had the opportunity to spend a semester at Tsinghua University in Beijing. My time in Asia exposed me to how cultural differences shape lifestyles and, in turn, influence the way spaces are organized. I was particularly inspired by the more collective use of spaces. In February 2026, I joined Paul de Ruiter Architects, initially as an intern. I deliberately chose this firm because of its ambitious and forward-thinking approach. Its conviction that sustainability and aesthetics go hand in hand aligns closely with my own design philosophy. I believe in creating architecture that is sustainable and innovative, with a strong identity and a focus on the user. Throughout my design process, I continually question how design decisions influence the way people experience a space. By approaching architecture from a psychological perspective, I aim to create spaces that are not only functional but also meaningful. In addition, I pursue photography, which allows me to further develop my eye for composition, light, and detail.
