Leonie Welling
Leonie graduated in 2012 with a dual degree in Architecture and Building Technology from TU Delft. After her studies, she gained work experience at various renowned firms, including RAU, Wiel Arets, Christ & Gantenbein, and Herzog & de Meuron. During these periods, she worked on projects such as the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate museum in Zürich and the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem.
“In my graduation project, I investigated how passive measures in architecture can influence the design and energy management of a building. The focus on durability and sustainability is a constant factor in my work and drives me to find innovative solutions that contribute to a better living environment.”
Since October 2024, Leonie has been working at Paul de Ruiter Architects. She has a strong affinity for complex and challenging projects, where she can experiment and contribute to positive changes in society. “Improving our environment and creating a fairer and more beautiful living environment is what drives me. I found that same passion at Paul de Ruiter Architects.”
