Paul Bordei
Paul completed his post master’s degree in building restoration at the Technical University in Romania in 2007. As of 2018, he is working as an architectural engineer and parametric design specialist in the Netherlands. He has worked on the Holland casino in Venlo and the Westfield Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam, among other projects. Paul specializes in Building Information Model design (BIM).
"When you build something you take away the natural environment, it is important to integrate this back into the design. In BIM, information and data are obtained through modeling. By using BIM, you can calculate the use of materials accurately, resulting in less material loss," says Paul.
In his youth, Paul wanted to be an artist. He loved to sketch and soon found out he was very good at geometry. Paul's parents were structural engineers and soon the topic of architecture came up.
"At Paul de Ruiter it is important to work in a team – it is embedded in the company values. Each team member is responsible for the entire project and each project has its unique characteristics and challenges."
Paul finds the ecological and environmentally circular view of design at Paul de Ruiter Architects inspiring. "Sustainability should be the starting point of every design. We have reached a point where we have to deal with the climate responsibly. Sustainable circularity, material, and energy use play an important role in this. At Paul de Ruiter, sustainability is central and at the same time top quality is produced," says Paul.
In addition to his work as an architect, Paul is dedicated to learning the Dutch language.
