Architect
‘Sustainability only becomes meaningful when it is not just functional, but also aesthetic and human-centered. For me, the essence of architecture lies in the balance between art, design, and technology.'

The firm’s intrinsic commitment to sustainability—not only in theory but especially in practice—aligns seamlessly with my belief that architecture only becomes truly meaningful when it is both sustainable and human-centered. My path to architecture actually began with a love for art. In Belgrade, I spent endless hours drawing and painting—it came naturally to me. This creative side eventually led me to the University of Arts in Belgrade, where I was drawn to the intersection of art, design, and architecture. I was fascinated by how these worlds overlap, and that curiosity guided me throughout my studies. In 2005, I obtained my master’s degree there. Curious and adventurous by nature, I then moved to Amsterdam, where I graduated from the Academy of Architecture in 2010. Since then, I have gained experience at various Dutch firms. My projects have ranged from public buildings and city halls to housing, masterplans, and urban strategies. During my studies, I focused my graduation project on Shanghai, which gave my career a new direction. Shortly thereafter, I moved to China, where I worked for three years on large-scale commercial projects, mixed-use developments, and high-rise buildings. The speed and scale of these projects offered me a fresh, global perspective on architecture. Alongside practice, I am also active in research and education, with a particular interest in social sustainability and the conceptual approach to architecture. I lecture and teach at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam. Since June 2025, I have been part of Paul de Ruiter Architects.
