Marina van Goor
After a career as a corporate lawyer at "De Brauw Blacktone Westbroek", Marina decided to make a switch to the world of interior design. She was accepted at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam (designLAB). Since graduation, she has had her own design studio in Amsterdam and works on a project basis with different clients. In addition, Marina is a Transformation and Product design tutor at the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art & Design in Rotterdam and is affiliated with Artemis Academy, University of Applied Sciences for trend forecasting, styling, and art direction. For three years Marina is connected to Paul de Ruiter Architects as an interior designer.
She works from the same values as PDR and focuses on sustainable interiors where people's happiness and health are central. Connecting with nature, applying natural soft and hard materials, aesthetic design, and underpinned use of color are obvious starting points for a good working/living environment.
"With the Paul de Ruiter team, design and functionality are equal. One does not undercut the other. There is a tremendous amount of beauty in the design and a lot of quality in the functionality," Marina explained. Among other things, she has designed the interior of the new multifunctional educational building of the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
"There is always room for intensive dialogue at Paul de Ruiter Architects both within the team and with the clients. Time is really well taken to get to the heart of a design question, which allows us to set up the design process efficiently "
"Everywhere you find the value of sustainability. I am therefore given every opportunity to translate the sustainable idea into the interior as much as possible," Marina says.
